Teaching can be a stressful job. It’s not stressful just because of the physical demands of chasing kids, waking up early to get to school, or staying up late to grade papers. It’s not stressful just because of the mental strain of constant planning of lessons, trying to outmaneuver menacing minds, or the hours of studying to make lessons relevant and creative.
Teaching is stressful because of the emotions you experience throughout any given day. The joy of success; the excitement of a student who “got it” today; the sadness of a student who has faced abuse, or lost an animal, or who’s parents are splitting up. This is just a great reminder that we lay it on the line each and every day…and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
